Avenue of Star first opened in 2003, also known as the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which is an avenue in front of Victoria Harbor. Hong Kong is known as the “Hollywood of the East” because of infamous Hong Kong movies. To help recognize celebrities that helped build the Hong Kong entertainment scene, The Avenue of Star shows all the names of celebrities as thank you. It also represents their glory and contribution to the filming industry in Hong Kong.
The Avenue of Stars is recently redesigned and reopened. In Avenue of Stars, there are more than 100 handprints from celebrities. Tourists can walk along the path to see the handprints and take pictures. The statue of the Hong Kong Film Award Association and the statue of Bruce Lee is located at the front of the Avenue. The best time to get the picture is at night, as the avenue is surrounded with soft lights that can also capture the night lighting of the harbor view in the background. Additionally, the Mcdull Statue is moved to The Avenue of Star in 2011 which is a nice touch.
