As for information on “Wah To Hospital”, it was a hospital that served the local community. The construction of Tung Wah Hospital in 1870, Wah To Hospital slowly went out of business and eventually got closed in 1886. Site of Wah To Hospital is then turn in to a temple to respect the God of Medicine. The temple went through renovation and had its exterior restored. Later on, the temple was used as a bone setting service then pass to another generation to operate as a clinic.
Blue house has its great
history and it is a living space to represent the old Hong Kong. It is a small
museum that brings awareness for people to appreciate the surrounding culture.
Although Hong Kong House of Stories is a small museum, it is divided into two
areas, the exhibition area and the handcraft area. The exhibition area is to
present information of local Hong Kong culture. As for handcrafted area, it
shows all the cultural handcrafted arts. Visitors are welcome to purchase them
as souvenirs, and to create their own.
Blue house is a place for history and architecture lovers. The blue house has a bit more of a European style. In the blue house, it shows a lot of furniture, paper, movies, and things that allow visitors to understand the history and what people were like in the old centuries. Visitors who join the walking tour of Wan Chai would also get to visit Blue House as part of the tour.
