Sha Tin Junior School is a primary school that found in 1988 and it belongs to English Schools Foundation (ESF). It is accredited by the Council of International Schools and the primary year program is approved by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) in 2009 that makes it the first ESF primary school to receive this status. The school has recent renovate the campus and it shares the site with its partner Sha Tin College. It does maintain its own facilities, but shares some facilities with Sha Tin College.

The school has 900 students that age from 5 to 11. It offers English curriculum and learns Chinese language with its culture. The school has great connection with the partner school and most students continue their education with Sha Tin College after graduation.

Sha Tin Junior School believe their students to have great passion for learning that they continue to grow and cultivate throughout life. The school inspires students to learn and to not hesitate. The environment encourages the possibility of “can do” attitude. The school lets students know that it is okay if there are mistakes and more importantly it is to learn from mistakes and work hard to achieve success. The school provides a program that allows their students to be well rounded individuals.

The school values their students but also value parents’ opinion as well. The school has Parents as Partners program that allow parents to help in classrooms and be actively in Parent Teacher Association. Sha Tin Junior School has home learning, which it is an opportunity for students to get the balance between leisure and schooling. This allows students to learn out of campus and maintain good relationship with the family. It helps students to think on a deeper level, understand individual needs, inspire them to discover and ask questions. Parents take on the role as partner to encourage students to learn at home.
