Stanley Market is a popular tourist place in Hong Kong. The market has a great ocean view and unique architectural buildings where you can take great pictures. It is an ideal place to take pictures and really set a unique scene and experience Hong Kong. Eating at the market is easy, there are so many restaurants and many places to sit down and enjoy a meal. You can find interesting goods in the small shops around on the street, it sells Chinese souvenirs, custom artwork, clothing and silk products. Interestingly the Stanley Market is also known for the famous deceased Taiwanese Singer Teresa Teng. She is a former resident that used to be in the area. However, the house was sold and deconstructed so it wasn’t in Stanley anymore.

Best Times to Visit Stanley Market:
The Stanley Market street is available 24/7 but the stores usually open from around 10am to 6:30-7pm.  The market is also open on all weekends and public holidays, including Christmas. The only time to be aware when planning for your trip is around Chinese New Year. Chinese Lunar New Year usually lasts for 3 days during the Lunar New Year, so most stores might close for the first day, especially small businesses or family-run businesses. But stores usually open the same time as their regular business hours during the second day of the Lunar New Year.

Recommendations:
  1. Best to arrive in the morning so you get to enjoy some sunshine, without being too hot during noon time when the sun is at its peak. Additionally, during this time, there are fewer people around. This is the best opportunity to enjoy a delicious lunch in one of the restaurants or snap some pictures of the view.
  2.  An alternative time is a late afternoon, so the heat isn’t unbearable, and you’ll get some nice breeze walking along on the market. Head to the restaurants or bars if you feel parched. If you happen to be a seafood lover, maybe you can take a boat and go to Aberdeen to enjoy a seafood dinner.
