International College Hong Kong Hong Lok Yuen is a school that was established in the 1980s.  The school is proud of its academic performance, the great community, supportive atmosphere on the campus and the international diversity community with students from all nationalities and backgrounds.

The kindergarten program in the school lets students explore. Students have the ability where they can express their creativity, learn kindness, be respectful and enjoy learning all together. Students get to set goals to grow their critical thinking, social, artistic and other skills. As students are still in their early to young ages, the main teaching method is play. It is important to let students play to get the balance of joy and learning. Students learn Mandarin through having fun when playing games and learn to sing songs and stories.

The primary program wants students to keep the same qualities and opportunity to add on other programs such as; learn language, numbers, the ability to read, write, ask & solve problems, critical thinking, self-improvement, research skills and work in teams. Being curious and exploring are the main methods of student learning. This allows students to get to know themselves, learn to appreciate different cultures, opinions, communication, and discussion. Students can improve based on self- reflection, from their errors and the feedback from the faculties. Slightly advanced Mandarin lessons would be in the program to maintain the language learning. Additionally, there are art classes and athletic classes for students. This program ends when students get to year 6.

 In the secondary program, the school focuses more on student progress on learning and their mindsets. Students get to learn skills for academic qualifications, for their independent learning as well as in teams and leadership. Students can learn and be successful. With all the programs, even though they all have their differences, the school offers activities for students to join out of the classroom. It encourages students to learn both indoors and outdoors to improve with gain best learning opportunities and experiences.
