English Schools Foundation, which is the largest foundation that runs for lots of international schools in Hong Kong. It recently decided to offer a discount for June tuitions by 45 percent. This is due to lots of in-person classes are canceled due to COVID 19 shutdown. The foundation also plans to have a new emergency plan that helps to reduce fees for April, May, and June to help reduce financial stress for the parents. For students’ tuition that is not pay through any financial help programs or by government, parents can claim the 45 discounts.
This

Foundation understand and know that it is a struggling time for parents to pay
tuition for their students, especially for those parents who might have their
hours cut, get asked to have unpaid leave during this period or even lose their
jobs. The foundation wants to do as much as possible to help, it also stops
fees for all school, includes kindergarten, primary and secondary school as of
2020/2021.
Although some parents think one month might not be enough as their children might still face the struggles for schooling since the COVID 19 has been going on for months. However, they do understand the school is doing its best trying to help. There are lots of parents from other international schools that would wish their schools get tuition discount as well. There is a petition online to collect signatures to support this action.
As for
now, there is a possibility that classes might resume before summer break
starts in July, but the specific date has not been confirmed yet.
